Selong Belanak has white and soft sands
Not many beaches have these kind of sands. Yes as a tropical archipelago and a country that has the longest coastal line in the world, Indonesia has so many white sand beaches. But when we observe carefully by touching the sands closely, there are only few beaches that have white and soft sands like flour. Some of those flour-like sands beaches include Tanjung Bira Beach, Cape Coast Kelayang, and other beaches. Selong Belanak Beach is one of those beaches. Plus, Selong Belanak has a great view of landscape. More Selong Belanak Photos
Belanak Selong beach has a fairly long shoreline. Thus, it does not seem crowded although there are many visitors. At that time, there were only three of us and a couple of foreigners. It feels like having a private beach. Yup, a long private beach. If you do not like crowded beaches because of the narrow coastline, Selong Belanak is really recommended beach in Lombok to visit. As far as the eye could see, there were only white sand, turquoise-light blue color gradation of the sea, and ecotic hills of Lombok.
The beauty of Nusa Tenggara’s landscape is no doubt. Selong Belanak also has this distinctive landscape of the Nusa Tenggara, which has dry “wrinkled” hills. This view is different from other tropical beach that usually featured with palm trees or green lush hills. Not all places have a view like this. And once again, Selong Belanak has this distinctive view.
One of the Surf Location for Beginners in Indonesia
Selong Belanak Beach is a bit wavy, although it’s not that big. This beach is the best place for practicing surfing, but not suitable for snorkeling considering it’s a wavy beach and white sand is too soft to make water turbid easily. At that time, we only saw two Caucasians who learned to surf guided by local.
