There are many beaches located at the southern coast of Bali Island, one of those is Padang-padang Beach. It is a unique white sandy beach in Bali and then become more popular after Julia Robert’s movie “Eat, Pray, Love” took place there. Another uniqueness of this beach is how to get to the beach from the main road/entrance gate because you have to pass a narrow alley crossing the huge rocks.
Padang-padang also become another Bali’s favourite surfing spot since Bali’s southern beaches are popular among the professional surfers. Padang-padang’s tide is amazing so that tourists all over the world love to come to surf Padang-padang Beach.
Padang-padang Beach lies on the west part of Pecatu, not far from the Uluwatu Temple. This beach is located 25 km out of the city or it needs an hour trip from Denpasar/Kuta/Ngurah Rai Airport.
If it has enough time, you can also spend your time to the nearest tourist spots like Dreamland Beach, Suluban Beach, and the ancient Uluwatu Temple. These places together with Padang-padang Beach are the most popular tourist spots in the southern part of Bali.
How to Get There
It is hard to get there using public transportation. Alternatively, you can rent a car cost 200.000-400.000 rupiah/day (include or exclude driver) or you can rent a motorcycle cost 50.000-60.000 rupiah/day. Get a trip straight to Uluwatu Road, the southern part of Bali Island then find Labuhan Said Street in which this beach is located.
You can stay at the hotel around Padang-padang Beach or alternatively, because located only an hour from the city, you can stay in the hotel around Kuta Beach or Denpasar.
