How to spend your time in Kuala lumpur but you have only a day. Imposible right? But i did. I only had a day trip otherwise i would miss my flight to Jakarta. And what i got from my “only one day trip” in Kuala Lumpur? Let’s see…
– Kuala Lumpur is the capital ciy of Malaysia
– Kuala Lumpur has 2 airport terminal, KLIA for general airlines and LCCT for low cost airlines.
– Don’t be confused to distinguish the place with its confusing abbreviation; KLIA, LCCT, KL Sentral, KLCC, and many more. If you have long day, you might recognize it. But if you only have a day, just memorize it 😛
– There are many interesting places in Kuala Lumpur and you have to choose several for only a day trip. I decided to go to Petronas Tower, Genting Highland, and Petaling Street. Why Petaling Street? It’s a good to start the trip because i stayed at hostel around Petaling Street and there i found night market. Why Petronas? Simply because it is the icon of Kuala Lumpur and even the icon of Malaysia as a whole. Why Genting Highland? Can you imagine a casino built in a moslem country (gambling is very prohibited in moslem), and Genting Highland has Starworld Casino.
Kuala Lumpur is located in Southeast Asia
How to Get There
– Petaling street
To go to this Chinatown, use MRT from LCCT Airport to KL Sentral (RM12,5). Then change to LRT from KL Sentral to Pasar Seni Station (RM1). Walk for about 100 meters to Petaling Street
– Genting Highland
Option I: From KL Sentral, use a bus cost RM4,3. It’s the easiest and cheapest way. and most of people use this way. So, be ready for running out of ticket.
Option II: Use Taxi from your hotel or from KL Sentral cost RM72 – RM100.
Option III: Use MRT from KL Sentral to Gombak Station (RM2,4). Then change with a bus from Gombak Station to Genting Higland (RM3,4))
– Petronas Twin Tower
From KL Sentral, use LRT to KLCC Station (RM1,6) or
From Gombak Station, use LRT to KLCC Station (RM2,1)
Kuala Lumpur is the biggest city in Malaysia, don’t worry about the hotel. In my trip to Kuala Lumpur, i stayed at Chinatown Hostel in Petaling Street cost RM20/person/night/dormitory room/no breakfast
